The electric retractable door driver comprises a power module and a control module: the power module provides three-phase power to the motor, and the control module converts according to the input power frequency of the signal.

The power module can be directly input by DC (usually 12V / 24V / 48V) or AC (220V). If the input is AC, it must be converted to direct current through a converter. Whether it is a DC power input or an AC power input, the DC voltage must be converted into a 3-phase voltage from the inverter to drive the motor before it is passed to the motor coil.

The control module provides PWM (pulse width modulation) to determine the power of the motor and the commutation timing of the inverter. Electric retractable door motors usually want to use speed control, where the speed can change the load when the set point is stable, without changing too much. Therefore, the motor is equipped with a sensor (usually a Hall sensor) whose closed-loop control that can sense the speed of the magnetic field is also used as the basis for phase sequence control. But this is only as a speed control, not as a positioning control. Positioning control requires an encoder like a servo motor.
